Can I set an Audigy's EAX settings on Linux?

I have a creative audigy sound card that works real nice in XP, openSuSE 10, and Ubuntu HH 8.04. The biggest drawback is that i cannot access the EAX settings from either distro. The sound plays fine, and i can tweak all the S/PDIF and og volumes with alsamixer, but I can't find any way to turn the CMSS or other enhancements on or off.

Horse wont stand still?

I have a 6 yro thoroughbred off the track and when i first got her i had to get her used to being in cross ties. It worked fine and she always stood perfectly still in the cross ties while i brushed her and tacked her up etc. Now about 4 months later the weather is getting nicer and she will not stand still! when i have her in the cross ties the big door is open and she can see out into the field where the other horses are and she wants to be out there. I dont want to have to close the door all the time but she just dances around in the cross ties constantly. I tried lunging her and getting her energy out but that didnt help either, any ideas? She also does it more when i am brushing her then anything else.. she does it no matter what way she is facing as well.

Is the Line 6 pod X3 any good?

I've heard some people say that the guitar tone sounds very 'digitalised' after going through many line 6 products but never heard anything specific for the X3. Sometimes it receives excellent reviews sometimes terrible reviews on the internet and i was wondering what your opinions are on it. I personally have played a friends PocketPod extensively and i loved it! So i have been uming that the X3 can only get better, but i want to make sure. How long should a Chalazion or Sty last?

About 2 and half weeks ago I fell asleep with my contacts in for about an hour when I woke up and opened my eye it felt like someone poked me in it. It was all red and watery and my eye sight was blurry. I removed my contacts and used some thera tears and after about 2 days my eyesight was cleared back up. 4 - 5 days later when I woke up one morning my eye had the same feeling (like someone had poked me in it, blurred vision). I used the thera tears again and in a few days it cleared up again. It has been doing this same routine since then so I went to the ER and the doctor checked my eye and told me I have a sty or chalazion under my upper eye lid about middle ways and gave me some antibiotic drops to use. I have used them for the past 4 days and I can't really tell it is helping any. My eye doesn't look like pictures I have saw online of styes or chalazions (no redness and only a small amount of swelling on the lid) but it feels like something is in my eye and it is very tender and scratchy. This morning I had the same problem when I opened my eye, which is so annoying, because my vision doesn't get any better until I go to sleep. I talked to the pharmacist today and he said I could use something called puralube which is sterile lubricating ointment but he said that it should have been better in about a week. Has anyone every had something like this happen to them or have any suggestion on what to do I would really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance!

hi, i was ually abused from a baby till 14 by my father. i have had over ten years of counsling. i never turned to drugs or any form of anything to take away the pain. i went to cousling for 10 years strait. a few years back i went threough a ruff time and was diognosed with depression anxiety and pannic attacks, this has subsided now thanks to medication and changeing life style. Now i get haunted with night mares but not as much as reoccuring thoughts of the abuse, little things trigger it off and it is like reliving it all over again feelings and all. it is making me sad, sick and hatred towards him. i get upset and want to go to his home and just abuse him. he also has told everyone that he went to jail because he stabbed someone (wich he went to jail because of the abuse towards me) some have found out about this and he says it was a one off thing and puts my mother down. im now 30 and just had enough what can i do to stop my thoughts? and reliving the situation in my mind?

I have a drive that has system recover which is PRESARIO_RP and I can't Access it and I have files in there.?

I putted some files in there for backup but then they disappeared, It says I got 500 MB left, and it bothers me when I got low space on my Drive, I putted about 3 GB on there while the drive has 11 GB. Whenever I open the drive, all it shows is a folder "Recovery" and when I open it, it doesn't show anything. I know it's secured and I can't change the security settings because then it will pop up with the message about Access is denied when applying security information. Okay my computer is fine.. it's more my internet or so I think.. I'm not sure which one it is. I can't listen to music or watch you tube or any other videos. I have all the updates.. well without those cards, this deck is simply a nuisance to other true decks. This is simply a very weak deck with troublesome effects. no true power. and your strongest monster is at 1600 attack points. very unwise to run the deck as it stands now. at least run venominon. cause without him this deck does not stand a chance vs anything right now unless they are a total noob. also replace 1 ambush fangs and 2 magic drains with 3 solemn judgments. they're more effective. also take out all 3 threatening roar and put in mirror force, magic cylinder, and torrential tribute. if you dont want torrential/mirror/cylinder, then put in 3 sakuretsu armor.

I really like this trade for you. I'm surprised the other guy is willing to pick up your injured backs. Finley is a huge upgrade for you over Miller, and you'll know he'll perform every week. Then you get a stud at RB. Rice has been off to a slow start but now that the Raven's ping game is coming along, he'll definitely pick up his numbers. My only hesitation in making this trade would be giving up McCoy but he's injured and you get an upgrade in Rice. Thomas is kind of overrated and I think Torain will have better numbers at the end of the season anyway. Then you have a lot to work with between Cutler, Benson, Torain, Miller if you want to pick up another back like an Ahmad Bradshaw type.

How can I help my son lift his head?

My son is a little over 2 months old. I've been giving him plenty of tummy time but no matter when I put him on his tummy he won't lift his head. He either just lays there and coos and moves his arms and legs or he falls asleep. It doesn't matter when I try to do it he never lifts his head. I've tried after naps so he won't falls asleep. I've tried in the morning, afternoon and evenings a few times a day but he just won't do it. I know his neck is getting stronger because when I hold him up he can hold his head steadily and can look around with ease but I'm getting concerned because he won'tlift his head at all when he's on his belly. Is there something I can do to maybe help teach him or something? Please no rude comments.I'm just concerned because how is he ever going to learn to crawl or even roll over if he hates to be on his belly so much and won't lift his head. There are these round red spots that are starting to peel spreading all over my body. First there was a big one on my face and it looks like ringworm. Then all of a sudden one appeared on my clavicle then on my shoulder and slowly more started showing up. I bought an anti-fungal cream that used clotrimazole 1% it didn't help looked like it was making everything worse. Then I finally went to the doctor and she took blood and gave me a pill for a yeast infection and a cream. Air Force and their rules on suicide?? help please?

Ok I am 20 now and I have already talked to a recruiter when I was 19 and all that was left to do was to be sworn in BUT i told the truth on one of the questions because I am honest and apparently dumb. It was about the counseling question and I said yes. Well they said that is the only reason I could not join because I had told my counselor that i had attempted suicide but the reason I was even in counseling was because I was in an abusive relationship with a guy! So them saying I couldn't join because of that made me mad. My now ex that was abusive is in the army has been hospitalized several times and has gone AWOL 3 times 1 of those was when he was on leave from Iraq he also has failed his drug test so it irked me that I was not able to join and I am honest and hard working. My recruiter tried everything even had me write a letter and in the end they said if I had finished my counseling then it would have been different. So I am curious if I go back to counseling for a while and they clear me what are the chances I can join? I was hoping to be a nurse. I am still going to college for nursing though I would just love to be in the Air Force. Any help is appreciated.

Death Note or Kingdom Hearts AMV Black Parade by My Chemical Romance?

I agree with you; Black Parade by My Chemical Romance goes very well with Death Note because it applies to Light Yagami at the beginning of the series wanting to create a new world and it really relates to Ryuk's cause of purposely dropping the Death Note into the human world so I advise you put some of Ryuk's scenes at the end like when he writes Light's name in the Death Note. I also think that Light Yagami at the end of the series goes amazingly well with Black Parade during the time when he dies and when he gets shot. I think no matter how obscenely obsessed I am with Kingdom Hearts that this song wouldn't go too well with Kingdom Hearts because there are few serious cutscenes which made me realize that this game doesn't go too well with rock and such, but rather with J-Pop or instrumental. Black Parade must also go with Death Note because there are violent scenes which really relates to the song unlike Kingdom Hearts. If you decide to choose Kingdom Hearts, maybe you can use scenes from Another Side Another Story, both Kingdom Hearts ending cutscenes, scenes from the Kingdom Hearts II opening, Birth by Sleep trailer, Xemnas' or Ansem's cutscenes and such, but I prefer Death Note. Heartbeat in pregnancy?

Hi I have concerns now I have bought an angel sounds doppler last week and still cant hear babys heartbeat others on you tube can hear theirs at this stage I have tried a full bladder low down higher up cant find it at all. I had a missed miscarriage in march at 8 weeks but my symptons faded with that one. The sickness in this one is getting worse though really bad where I am actually vomiting and I have still got all symptons. I have not put weight on as I love exercise and swim 3 times a week but I find it hard to eat a lot of things and too much makes me feel ill. I am getting married on Saturday and still fit in my wedding dress a size 12! I just think I am obsessing too much but it would be nice to hear my babes heartbeat. Anyway is the vomiting normal at this stage it seemed to go away and all of ta sudden it as reared its ugly head again although quite reuring so not to bothered in fact i panic when I dont be sick every morning which is rare really. Also I have gone off water! I cant stand the taste and the coldness on my stomach! I a mso scared to go to my doctor because I dont want to not find an heartbeat on a scan so I have decided to wait till I can feel him/her move before I go for one. Maybe its too soon to be pregnant again but I so want this baby but I know I did not heal emotionally. I think I will opt for a d and c if the worst happens again rather than be induced! any reurance would be lovely.

I have been going to the doctors on and off for months now and nobody can figure it out. I always have constant stomache gurgling, not painful but loud and can be felt internally. Its in my lower left and right sides and i can also feel it right above my *** as if i need to go to the bathroom but i dont. I have had chest compression as well and have felt gurlging in my chest as well. Twice i have felt what seemed like my heart skipped a beat and stopped. I have had an endoscopy and colonoscopy which didnt turn anything up, and im getting worried. does anyone have any ideas????

i understand that a majority of fraternities (and college campuses alike), outlaw kegs on campus.on our campus, we're in a transition state where we are moving towards outlawing kegs; mainly because the majority of insurance policies do not cover the fraternity if kegs are present at the party (e.g. if a drunk idiot throws a beer can and hits a girl in the head, the school is not covered). we cannot stop alcohol consumption on campus, it is bound to happen. the way our social scene works here, fraternities are the only thing keeping kids from consuming alcohol off campus (and traversing a VERY dangerous local area). not only this, but moving to cans would result in a HUGE increase in waste that SHOULD be recycled, but nonetheless is not, therefore damaging the environment in a time where going green is a large, as well as necessary, movement in america. we are therefore looking for other options. any input would be greatly apprecited

Legal advice-car abandonment laws...dk wut 2 do?

ok my distant cousin told my brother that he could park his truck at his house because my brother was homeless and his truck had somethin wrong with it so he told my brother he would help him find what was wrong with it and help fix it. his truck was there fer like a week tops (i dont even think it was that long) but my cousins wife threw a fit because she was in the hospital and when she got home a huge black truck was in her drive way and she didnt kno whos truck it was. my cousin explained what was goin on and she was still pissy but said he could leave his truck there......a few days later my brother had gone to indiana (we live in illinois) 2 help his step-brother move so therefore he was not even in the state to get his truck. my couzin was texting and calling me telling me my brother needed 2 get his truck out of his drive way ASAP or they were goin 2 have it towed i tried and tried telling them my brother wasnt in the state but they wouldnt listen and the truck was towed. he didnt have the $ to get it out so he just left it at the toweing place. my brother now has a $10,000 warrant out fer his arrest for tressping and abandoning a vehichle. can they really prossecute him even tho he was broke and couldnt get it out and since he wasnt even in the state 2 get it???

Rash started legs, that comes and goes all over.?

I've had this rash for almost 5 months now. I've seen 3 doctors, and 1 dermatologist. None of them know what it is. It's a red bumpy rash that itches and spreads. It comes and goes frequently. It started on the back of my legs, then to my arms and elbows, shoulders, & neck. The itching has been all over my body, even the back & sides of my heard. I've been treated for scabies twice, so that's not it, and the way it comes and goes is not how scabies would act (per the dermatologist & doctors). I've been prescribed a type prednisone twice and that has stopped the rash and most of the itching both times, but Dr's don't want to keep prescribing this steroid. Does anyone know what this could be? I'll go weeks with no problems, then it flares up again. It's very unlikely that it's an allergic reaction because nothing in my daily routine has changed or has noticeably set off the rash, it is VERY random. And after 5 months, I think I would notice if it was something in particular.

It's possible he has ADHD or an anxiety disorder or a number of other things. Unfortunately, it generally takes a lot of time and effort to come up with the right diagnosis. I read your list and I will say that the bedwetting is probably not related to any of the other incidents. A lot of boys wet the bed and it has nothing to do with anything other than a bladder that hasn't developed at the same pace as the rest of his body. Also, even if there is something going on with him medically (and I do include any type of mental disorder in that), there is no excuse for a child to punch, bite or call their mother names like that. I certainly hope you have a plan of action in place for such behavior. Discipline can go a long way and does not need to be replaced by understanding in those instances. It will send your son the wrong message. One of my boys has ADHD, but nothing near to the extent that you are talking about. Make sure you are seeing someone that has an in-depth knowledge of disorders in children and you may be better off seeing a psychiatrist as opposed to a psychologist. That way meds can be prescribed if deemed necessary. Best of luck.

My wife and I both divorced cheating spouses. We hit it off quickly when we started dating so we agreed to an exclusive relationship and a commitment to eventual marriage. Sadly, during this time frame she cheated on me with a friend of her girlfriend, we broke up, went our separate ways, I started to date another woman, etc. She and her new boyfriend did not work out so she approached me about reconciliation and I agreed to start the process of “working things out”. Married a little over seven years now, this happened around ten years ago. Good times have been good, bad times have been bad and too frequent so it seems like we are constantly working things out. During the first “working things out” period she seemed more interested in what I had done instead of what she had done and insisted that both of us promise to never initiate or accept contact from the other “party” without letting each other know. I never saw my relationship exactly as she saw hers considering I never cheated but I wanted this to work so I agreed and never broke my promise. Shortly thereafter I found out she had talked to him concerning some “business”. This bothered me particularly since the promise was her idea, so I let her know it but life went on supposedly without more reasons to wonder if she was keeping her promise. Just a couple of years ago due to a slip of her tongue, I found out she (now as my wife) had been looking for some information concerning this guy on Facebook after all these years and after all we have gone through! This really set me back, I wondered what else I might not know about. Insecurity welled up inside me once again. I became very angry, wanting her to just get out of my life, go with this guy as a legitimate reason to end this marriage. She said her reason for doing this was to see what his wife looked like. Her apology at the time was I am sorry you are angry but I don’t agree that you should be. This was just a thoughtless act to her and I was overacting. Well maybe so but that just made it worse for me at the time. It also reminded me of the years I waited to receive an unconditional apology for the initial cheating episode. And to top this off, just before I found out about this Facebook thing, I had written her estranged friend (this person is the actual girlfriend mentioned above) to let her know I forgave my wife long ago for this and the matter is settled so please stop hling her about this. Is it rational to wonder if the estranged friend might know more about this than meets my eye?

Accidentally put oil/gas mix in lawnmower...now what?

I did it this morning on accident and the mower worked fine for 2 hours of mowing. This evening I went to finish mowing and the mower worked ok then just stopped. I tried to restart it and it works for a second then stops. I checked the levels and put just plain gas in and it still won't stay running. The oil is a little low. I think it's really nice of you to be willing to just give them away. Like the other person that responded, if I didn't live so far I would take them on a heart beat. Here is an idea, Once I got stuck with extra tickets for a concert too and instead of just giving it to just any body I ended up donating them to a local YMCA which is a non-profit org. They gave them away to an after school program to some teens that volunteered their time to prevent gang violence. They were supper exited and very appreciative, they had a great time and send me a thank you card with pics and all. It was very rewarding.

My daughter keeps saying it and I am not entirely sure what it means. My son said it has to do with something VERY inappropriate and I am hoping he is just yanking my chain again. She was very obedient until about 18 months old. Nothing out of the ordinary happened then, and my other daughter wasn't born until she was 30 months. I have tried any & every bit of advice I've been given. NOTHING works. Her father, and grandparents do not have a problem with her doing what she is told to do, only me. I have tried to use their methods, but to no avail. I am the primary caregiver in our home. I have tried to take some 'mommy-time' & have her grandparents watch her, but she refuses to spend the night or even a day with her dad away from me. When she goes home with someone, they end up bringing her back shortly because she won't stop crying for me. She won't even go in my parents home without me, because she's afraid I'll leave without her. It's not getting any better now that she has a 2 month old sister. Parents Who Use Their Kids To Compete With Other Parents?

I have this acquaintance that my kids occasionally have play dates with his daughter. When we go out in public my sons get a lot of complements and attention mostly beacuse they are twins, and people seem to be facinated with twins. I notice that if someone dosent complement the acquaintance's child he will have an attitude the whole day, and take it out on me as if i can control waht people say and do. So we NEVER just left him outside..My ex and i live in different states and this year since we've been divorced he has seen our children for 3 days. last month he visited and stayed in my house, and left in the middle of the night a day earlier then planned without him telling me... he didn't lock the door and our 2 and 3 year old went outside to find him, which is where i found them when i woke up in the morning, OUTSIDE! the man is negligent, never calles the kids and sees them for 3 days out of the year, puts them in danger, and just killed our dog..CAN I REQUEST SUPERVISED VISITATION? I am so afraid that his negligence will result in our children being put in danger while they are in his care (the 3 days a year he decides to visit) ..of course i will contact an attorney on monday, just wondering if anyone had any advise or knowledge about this matter.
