Looking to get a PS3.. Couple questions...?

Yeah just buy the slim and if you want more HDD space then upgrade. Sony wants you to forget playing ps2 on the ps3. Yeah the controller is different from the last one but you will get used to it. And if you want to use you xbox I saw a device that will take the xbox signal and convert it so the ps3 understands them.
