What is the easiest way to learn how to knit?

I would definitely have someone teach you! What a great gift to learn from someone else! Any of the early answers should be helpful to you. My mom is teaching me...and it is so much better...she learned from a friend, who learned from her mother and so on and so on. Pick someone who can teach you how to read patterns, hold your yarn, and pick the materials. If you can, start and finish the project with that person! Some yarn shops offer sit and knit (free cles where everyone come to just knit and chat) or even see if your local coffee shop offers an evening like this...if not, maybe YOU could start one! Knitting is fun to do with a close circle of friends! You will share great memories while you are learning.
