Is there long term effects on your eyes with all this 3D everything now a days?

Just wondering what the effects are on your eyes. Looking to possibly become an optometrist because of all this 3D everywhere it seems like people will have problems in the long run and seems like a good field to get into. I also enjoy it and came very easy to me in anatomy and physiology. So I was wondering if 3D is going to have long term effects down the road from the youth growing older.
