Ipod touch??? (4th generation) problemsss?

Ok well i bough a macbook and i Decided.. to connect my ipod touch on it so i can add music well when i do itunes won't show or say anything about what i connected.But when i connect my ipod to my OLD laptop. (and its not a mac) it read its. Can anyone tell me what this problem is?
