How long should a Chalazion or Sty last?

About 2 and half weeks ago I fell asleep with my contacts in for about an hour when I woke up and opened my eye it felt like someone poked me in it. It was all red and watery and my eye sight was blurry. I removed my contacts and used some thera tears and after about 2 days my eyesight was cleared back up. 4 - 5 days later when I woke up one morning my eye had the same feeling (like someone had poked me in it, blurred vision). I used the thera tears again and in a few days it cleared up again. It has been doing this same routine since then so I went to the ER and the doctor checked my eye and told me I have a sty or chalazion under my upper eye lid about middle ways and gave me some antibiotic drops to use. I have used them for the past 4 days and I can't really tell it is helping any. My eye doesn't look like pictures I have saw online of styes or chalazions (no redness and only a small amount of swelling on the lid) but it feels like something is in my eye and it is very tender and scratchy. This morning I had the same problem when I opened my eye, which is so annoying, because my vision doesn't get any better until I go to sleep. I talked to the pharmacist today and he said I could use something called puralube which is sterile lubricating ointment but he said that it should have been better in about a week. Has anyone every had something like this happen to them or have any suggestion on what to do I would really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance!
