You can either go to court and file for custody so that you have proper doentation, or you can find another apartment. I think without the court doents you don't really have legal custody, do you? Unless dad is completely out of the picture (which is what the leasing office wants you to prove, I ume) then his income has some impact on your qualification for the reduced rate.
