I got fired for violating personnel policy, but my boss didn't, she got 1 day suspension, is this legal?
I informed my boss that I was put on deferred probation, she didn't inform HR for 5 months, then when she did I was fired for violating personnel policy that states if you break a city or county ordinance you'll be terminated. I then informed HR that my boss also violated the same personnel policy that is terminating me. She falsified my time sheet when I went to jail for 2 days. She put down that I was there when I wasn't because she didn't want to fill out the LWOP paperwork as I had no leave accrued to use. After providing proof that I was in jail to HR, they did reprimand her but they only gave her a 1 Day suspension. Both of our offenses are listed in the policy as "1st offense = termination. I went thru the grievance process and lost. I feel so violated, I know this can't be lawful. Is this legal? Can I do anything about this? I would love my job back.
